Web Editor's Picks:
There are a wide variety of open source software packages that are designed to provide authors with new ways to create and share information. One important program, in my opinion, is Zotero--a browser based reference collection system that is seemlessly integrated with Firefox. It creates a database that you can add references directly from Scifinder or other databases, and more importantly, share with other collaboratiors. Even more important Zotero also provides plug-ins for word processors that allow the automatic insertion of properly formated references into documents as you write. Check out the video at Zotero.com to find out more.
